Legally Blonde

I Object!     Welcome back to another musical review! This week I'll be covering the Legally Blonde musical, which is based off of the movie of the same name. This show follows the story of Elle Woods as she chases her ex-boyfriend off to Harvard Law School in an attempt to win him back.      If you've seen (and enjoyed) the original film, I guarantee that you will enjoy the musical version. The plot remains iconic, but the added energy from live performing is unmatched. This review is based off of the MTV pro-shoot featuring many actors from the OBC. Without further ado, let's get right into Legally Blonde: The Musical!  Legally Blonde: The Musical Legally Blonde: The Musical History      Legally Blonde was a film created in 2001 starring Reese Witherspoon as Elle Woods. It was first adapted as a stage version and made its Broadway debut in April 2007. In September that same year, a pro-shoot was filmed, and it...

Chicago

And All That Jazz!     Hi again! Welcome back to another review. This week I'll be covering the musical Chicago! This will be a review of the film version, not a stage performance.      I'm going to be honest, I'm going into this review with pretty much no prior knowledge. I know two songs and the vague idea of the show, but other than that, I'm diving in blind! I know on some of my posts it may seem a little biased for some shows that I already know and love, but for this show, you're getting my full, candid thoughts for certain. Without further ado, let's pounce right in! Movie poster Catherine Zeta-Jones, Chicago  RenĂ©e Zellweger, Chicago History     Chicago began as a play in 1962, written by Maurine Dallas Watkins, based off of two actual court cases. Watkins wrote the play as a class assignment! From there, Chicago evolved into a musical and debuted on Broadway in 1975. It made its first West End appearance in 1979. A Br...

High School Musical 3: Senior Year

WHAT TEAM? WILDCATS     Hey cats! This week will be the final post about the High School Musical series. The final movie is called High School Musical 3: Senior Year (HSM3). This movie follows the students through the second semester of their senior year, as stress about college, relationships, and an impending musical creates chaos.      If you missed my other posts about HSM, check those out first! This movie is a continuation of those events. It would help with your understanding of this movie if you're familiar with the previous films.      I hope you enjoyed my mini-series! I thought it would be an interesting concept, and I had so much fun! It almost felt like watching a TV series or something, where you have to wait a week for the next update. Seems ironic, considering there is a High School Musical: The Musical: The Series television show (That's a mouthful!). Anyway, let's get right into our ...
